Big Success Of Bestcilia Conference & Workshop In Cracow!

Large Attendance At The Latest Bestcilia Conference & Workshop

On 20-21st of October 2014 in Cracow, Poland, an international conference and workshop „Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) – modern diagnostic approaches” took place.

The Conference was one of successful workshops for clinicians organized within Bestcilia WP7, aiming at dissemination of knowledge on PCD and its diagnostics among medical professionals in Europe, especially in countries with low healthcare expenditures (Cyprus, Greece, Poland).

The Conference in Poland created a platform for presentation of the most modern knowledge on molecular, cellular, clinical and diagnostic aspects of PCD, as well as a state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques. The internationally-recognized PCD experts presented a series of lectures and a unique, hands-on workshop on modern methods used in PCD diagnostics was organized. During the Conference, also an open-to -public, general assembly of Bestcilia members took place.

A large attendance at the Conference proved an urgent need for information on modern aspects of PCD – as many as 65 persons from Europe and USA participated in the Conference, including 35 clinicians from Poland.

The Conference was organized by WP7 leader, International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, Poland, and supported by the Institute of Human Genetics PAN, Poznan. Poland.
