1st Meeting of Young Researchers in PCD!
A major opportunity for emerging scholars: the first Young Researchers' Meeting on Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia will take place in March 2015 in Bern, Switzerland.
Launched and organized by PCD scientists and Bestcilia participants, Myrofora Goutaki, Laura Behan and Helene Kobbernagel, the meeting will be a chance for Ph.D. students and junior researchers working on PCD from around the world to interact not only on a professional but also on a more personal plane. This will be achieved by the combining scientific component with a few days devoted to winter activities in the mountains.
The scientific part of the meeting will take place 12-13th March, 2015 in Bern, Switzerland and will cover subjects ranging from laboratory work to PCD epidemiology. It will be an opportunity for beginners in the field to present their workand discuss it with other participants. Additionally, two lectures on the vital topics of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis will be delivered by professors from the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (University of Bern).
In addition to the scientific part, the participants will have the opportunity to practice winter sports and become familiar with Swiss culture and cuisine during a few days in the mountains (not obligatory, at participants' own expense.)
We would like to strongly encourage all young researchers to take part in this unique opportunity. Attached please find a preliminary program of the meetingas well as a registration form. The deadline for registration was 3rd November 2014; nonetheless, delayed registration is possible, especially for non-presenting participants.
